Silk Drives 48% Year over Year Growth in FY2024

NEEDHAM, MA – February 8, 2025 – Silk today announced that it has achieved 48% year over year growth for fiscal year 2024, which ended Dec 31, 2024. Over the past two years, the company has seen 140% growth driven by rapid customer adoption artificial intelligence (AI). AI innovation requires access to real-time production data which the Silk software-defined cloud storage solution provides.

Customer Traction

  • Sentara Healthcare, a not-for-profit healthcare organization in Virginia, is leveraging Silk to enable real-time AI in its hospitals, which will massively improve diagnostics and patient care.
  • SimCorp, a leading financial software company, is continuing to onboard more SaaS customers to its Silk offering, which provides unparalleled scale, cost efficiency, and automation.
  • Franciscan Health, a $4B healthcare provider in Indiana and Illinois, uses Silk to migrate their entire Epic estate and all other healthcare applications into Microsoft Azure while getting the fast performance, automation, and AI enablement they needed.
  • MJ Holding, the largest North American distributor of trading cards, is using Silk’s Database as a Service offering to streamline operations to address fluctuating demands.

Product Innovation

  • Silk Echo for AI – This new capability makes it possible to automate the duplication of a database resulting in digital twin feeding AI workflows.
  • Groundbreaking Performance Improvements – Silk continues to lead the industry with the fastest performance available in the cloud. Recent performance testing has achieved up to 50GB/sec per Silk DataPod.
  • Support for Azure Boost – Silk runs on Azure Boost, achieving 26GB/sec on a single database.
  • Non-Disruptive Live Media Migration – Seamlessly migrate data to newer and faster cloud resources with no downtime.
  • New Entry Configurations – With new, low-profile configurations, customers can now easily expand their use of Silk to AI and edge use cases.

Leadership Updates

In 2024, Silk welcomed Ronen Schwartz, CEO of K2View, to its Board of Directors. Schwartz brings decades of experience in cloud storage, data management, and enterprise solutions to Silk’s board. He previously served as Senior VP and General Manager of Cloud Storage at NetApp, where he played a pivotal role in driving cloud adoption and innovation.

Partnerships

Silk was pleased to have attained Premier partner status for Google Cloud in the Build Engagement Model. As a Google Cloud Premier partner, Silk demonstrates its commitment to delivering an innovative cloud solution and exceptional service to its Google Cloud customers.

Throughout 2024, Silk continued to grow and evolve in its partnerships with both Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. To better support customers, Silk has extended partnerships to several key cloud-centric partners to deliver a proven approach to migrating and running applications in the public cloud. To support these partners, Silk launched a certification partner program. New partnerships in 2024 include:

  • AHEAD – Strategic consulting and managed services for cloud, security, and data
  • OptaFi – Modernizing healthcare environments
  • Softchoice – Software and cloud-focused IT solutions provider
  • Woolpert – Premier architecture, engineering, geospatial, and strategic consulting firm

Finally, in 2024, Silk partnered with Accenture to provide customers with Cloud Database as a Service (DBaaS) managed service.
